Low Voltage Quality & Testing Supervisor (Fiber Optics)

MULTIPLE OPENINGS! Hyperscale Data Center Site!

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Compensation: $65-$90 W2 depending on level of experience (open mid-principle level candidates) + Travel + Per Diem

Duration: 10- week project, potential for extension (not guaranteed)

Position Overview

The Low Voltage Quality & Testing Supervisor provides hands-on, field-level leadership to enhance the quality, accuracy, and productivity of fiber optic installation, splicing, termination, and testing operations.

This role supplements the Low Voltage Vendor’s (LVV) existing supervision by deploying highly experienced, foreman-level professionals (5–10+ years in mission-critical or hyperscale data centers) to actively verify workmanship, enforce testing standards, and drive measurable performance improvements.

A key focus of this role is closing supervision gaps during night and weekend shifts, ensuring consistent quality control and production performance across all work periods.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site supervision of LVV crews performing fiber installation, splicing, terminations, and testing
  • Conduct independent quality inspections of installed work, including enclosures, patch panels, labeling, routing, and pathways
  • Review and validate fiber testing results (OTDR, insertion loss, continuity, polarity) to ensure compliance with project specs and industry standards
  • Identify deficiencies or failed tests in real time and direct immediate corrective actions with crew leadership
  • Establish and communicate clear, shift-level production goals aligned with project milestones
  • Lead shift start briefings and end-of-shift turnover meetings to ensure continuity and alignment
  • Track and report key quality and production metrics (defects, retests, failed tests, productivity) with daily reporting to client stakeholders
  • Provide enhanced oversight during night and weekend shifts to maintain quality and performance standards
  • Collaborate with LVV foremen to improve workflow efficiency, sequencing, and crew productivity
  • Identify systemic issues affecting quality or schedule and escalate with recommended solutions
  • Support and implement recovery plans to address delays, rework, or performance gaps
  • Verify all completed work is properly documented, labeled, tested, and ready for turnover, including as-built accuracy

Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of experience in low voltage/fiber optics within mission-critical or hyperscale data center environments
  • Strong expertise in fiber installation, splicing, termination, and testing methodologies
  • Proven experience in quality control, field supervision, and production management
  • Deep understanding of OTDR testing, loss budgets, and industry standards
  • Ability to lead crews, enforce accountability, and drive performance improvements in real time
  • Willingness to work nights, weekends, and extended shifts as needed

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Foreman-level leader who is highly hands-on and detail-oriented
  • Strong communicator who can influence crews and enforce standards without disrupting workflow
  • Results-driven with a focus on reducing rework, improving quality, and accelerating project delivery
