Fulltime - Automation Test Engineer - Payments

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Payment Tester with hands-on experience in payment systems, specifically in Authorization, Clearing processes, and ISO message formats. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in validating payment flows, ensuring compliance with standards, and supporting end-to-end testing of payment transactions.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform functional and integration testing of payment systems with a focus on transaction flows.
• Validate Authorization and Clearing processes across various payment scenarios.
• Analyze and test ISO 8583 and ISO 20022 message formats for accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborate with development and business teams to understand requirements and create detailed test cases.
• Execute test plans, log defects, and ensure timely resolution.
• Work closely with Mastercard teams to align testing with network specifications and updates.
• Support regression testing and automation initiatives where applicable.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Exposure to agile and waterfall testing methodologies and tools such as RALLY and ALM.
• Knowledge in Java/C/C++ development in Test automation
• Experience of working with other developers to ensure that systems are designed for reliability, performance and testability
• Experience testing across a variety of platforms: web and mobile user interface, APIs (REST and SOAP), and Mainframe and UNIX
• Exposure in building and using automation frameworks using technologies: Java, JUnit, Selenium, JBehave, Soap UI/Pro, REST, JSON and XML.

• Expert knowledge of Payments Products (Credit/Pre-paid/Debit)
• Knowledge of payment simulation tools (Paragon, FinSim, T3 or similar)
• Knowledge of ISO payment protocols (8583) desirable.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other payment networks (e.g., Visa, Amex) is a plus.
• Knowledge of automation frameworks and scripting languages.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification
