Position Overview

Client is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer / Remote Control Software Engineer to support its Remote Control System group.

The selected candidate will work as part of a 7 8 person development team designing, developing, integrating, and testing robust and scalable features for embedded electronic control systems and vision systems used in remote-controlled machine applications.

This is a hands-on development role focused on Embedded C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, RTOS, system integration, and validation. The engineer will work across software, hardware, controls, and communication networks to develop production-ready remote control and machine control solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define system requirements, architecture, interfaces, and end-to-end feature traceability.
  • Design, develop, integrate, and validate Remote Control Systems across software, hardware, controls, and communication networks.
  • Develop and maintain embedded software using Embedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Perform system integration, verification and validation (V&V), troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
  • Support functional safety, FMEA, product quality, and release activities.
  • Work with Remote Control System engineers and global engineering teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Utilize AI-assisted engineering tools to improve development productivity, testing, and documentation.
  • Support system integration activities for embedded control systems.
  • Contribute to new technology development in the areas of remote control and autonomy.

Top 3 Required Skills

1. Embedded C/C++ and MATLAB/Simulink

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience preferred.
  • Strong experience developing embedded software.

2. Embedded Systems and RTOS

  • 5+ years of embedded systems development experience.
  • Strong knowledge of RTOS and embedded control systems.

3. System Integration

  • 3 5 years of system integration experience.
  • Experience with verification, validation, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

Required Technical Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or another relevant technical field.
  • 5 7 years of experience in:
    • Systems Engineering
    • Embedded Software Development
    • System Integration
    • Verification and Validation
  • Strong proficiency in Embedded C/C++.
  • Strong experience with MATLAB/Simulink.
  • Experience developing embedded systems using RTOS.

  • Experience with communication protocols and networks, including:

  • Approximately 5 7 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • The role documentation also notes 4+ years of relevant experience as a minimum.
  • Internships may be considered as relevant experience.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Embedded Software Engineer or Systems Engineer with strong experience in:

  • Embedded C/C++
  • MATLAB/Simulink
  • RTOS
  • Embedded Control Systems
  • CAN and Ethernet
  • System Integration
  • Verification and Validation

Candidates with experience in remote control, autonomy, robotics, or machine control systems will be highly preferred.

The selected candidate will:

  • Support both software development and system integration.
  • Work in an onsite office environment.

  • Have only an Associate Degree without the required equivalent technical background.
  • Have only validation experience without embedded software development experience.
  • Lack hands-on experience with Embedded C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, and embedded systems.
  • Cannot work onsite in Mossville, IL.
