About the Project We are seeking a highly analytical and self-driven Lead Cloud Architect for a large-scale modernization effort moving from the client's legacy systems to the Microsoft Power Platform. This initiative focuses on the critical transition between existing infrastructure and the future system. The primary focus of this role is to identify system and data gaps, engineer technical paths forward, and lead a cross-functional team of business analysts and programmers to ensure a seamless migration and integration strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the determination of system and data-level gaps between legacy systems and the new Microsoft Power Platform environment.
Map data relationships between legacy and future systems, determining which data is targeted for migration and defining processes for non-migrated data.
Engineer and plan the organization's cloud computing infrastructure, transforming logical models into physical architectures and implementations.
Synthesize architecture guidelines from broad stakeholder sets to ensure solutions meet business requirements and industry standards.
Address key architecture considerations including scalability, performance, and functional capabilities across SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS models.
Resolve complex issues regarding technology component communication and shared responsibilities across platforms.
Justify project expenditures by identifying costs, benefits, and associated risks, including the development of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models.
Provide comprehensive documentation to support architectural decisions and facilitate management collaboration.
Position Requirements
Deep understanding of enterprise-level programming and proven critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Extensive database knowledge, including an expert understanding of relational data types, complex mapping, and data relationships.
Direct experience with the Microsoft Power Platform.
Strong ability to function as a self-starter in technical documentation and executive-level presentations.
Proven experience leading and facilitating cross-functional, multi-service provider work teams in a collaborative manner.
Familiarity with systems development methodologies and awareness of industry trends and regulatory considerations.
At least 5 years of experience specifically as a Technical Cloud Architect or Technical Cloud Lead.
Past experience with governmental modernization projects.
Industry certifications in cloud architecture or relevant Microsoft platforms.
