Senior WebSphere Commerce Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client seeking a remote Senior WebSphere Commerce Developer to join their team. The client is seeking a Senior WebSphere Commerce Developer with 7+ years of enterprise application development experience to design, enhance, and support their B2B eCommerce platform. This role plays a critical part in delivering scalable, high-performance commerce solutions supporting complex catalogs, contract pricing, and high transaction volumes. The ideal candidate brings deep IBM WebSphere Commerce/HCL Commerce expertise, strong Java/J2EE fundamentals, and experience working within large, integrated enterprise ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and maintain enterprise solutions using IBM WebSphere Commerce
* Build and maintain RESTful APIs and service-oriented integrations
* Develop using Java, SpringBoot
* Optimize application performance, scalability, and reliability
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
* Participate in architecture discussions and technical design reviews
* Mentor junior developers and contribute to best practices
* Support platform upgrades and modernization initiatives (WCS/HCL Commerce)

Lead and implement customizations across core commerce modules:
* Catalog and product management
* Pricing, contracts, and promotions
* Order processing and fulfillment
* Member, role, and entitlement management

Integrate commerce platform with enterprise systems:
* SAP ERP
* OMS, PIM, payment providers, and third-party services

REQUIREMENTS:
* 7+ years of professional software development experience
* 4+ years of hands-on IBM WebSphere Commerce (v7, v8, or v9/HCL Commerce)
* Strong expertise in Java/J2EE enterprise development
* Strong Linux/Unix experience
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Maven, Jenkins, Git)

Experience with:
* WebSphere Application Server (WAS)
* REST APIs and Web Services
* SQL and relational databases (DB2, Oracle, or equivalent)

Deep understanding of B2B eCommerce concepts:
* Contract and customer-specific pricing
* Large SKU catalogs
* Account-based purchasing models

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
