Description
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Technician with hands-on experience in network upgrades, IDF builds, and structured cabling. This role supports critical infrastructure projects and offers a clear path to grow into a Team Lead position.
Project Overview:
This role will support a variety of data center initiatives, including:
Device staging and installation
Structured cabling (installation and replacement)
Decommissioning legacy equipment
Link validation and connectivity testing
Cleanup, documentation, and reporting
Key Responsibilities:
Perform rack and stack installations of network and server hardware
Execute IDF builds and network deployment activities
Install, route, label, and test fiber, copper, power, and optical cabling
Support network upgrades and troubleshoot connectivity issues
Decommission equipment, including safe removal of network cabling
Conduct physical audits of data center assets
Manage and update work through a ticketing system
Perform QC checks on cabling and labeling standards
Stage, move, and prepare hardware and accessories for deployment
Handle RMA processes and component replacements
Log into chassis managers and perform basic configuration/validation tasks
Scope, test, and troubleshoot power and network connections
Required Qualifications:
Experience in an enterprise data center environment
Strong hands-on experience with cabling, deployment, and hardware installation
Familiarity with network troubleshooting and infrastructure upgrades
Experience working with ticketing systems and documentation
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
Experience leading small efforts or mentoring junior technicians
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Solid organizational and documentation skills
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

This position is designed for a technician who is ready to grow into leadership. The selected candidate will:
Start as a strong individual contributor
Be mentored by the current Team Lead
Gradually take on ownership and leadership responsibilities
Transition into the Team Lead role by January 2027, with the current lead moving into a backup/support capacity

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $38.50/hr.
