Location: Princeton, NJ (onsite)
​Pay rate: $ 58-62 an hour
Contract Duration: 6 months
Work Hours: 8:45 am to 5:00 pm Monday – Friday (We are currently on summer hours until the last week in August - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm)

MuleSoft Developer Consultant Position Description
We are seeking a skilled MuleSoft Developer with a strong foundation in web application development using Java or .NET to design and deliver scalable integration solutions. This role is ideal for a developer who has transitioned into integration engineering and can effectively bridge traditional application development with modern API-led connectivity using MuleSoft.

The ideal candidate will have experience with API-led connectivity, strong problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset. In addition to integration work, this position will also support the ongoing maintenance of custom web applications, including responding to and implementing ad hoc enhancements and bug fixes. As such, developing and supporting custom web applications is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deploy integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
  • Build and manage RESTful ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Apply API-led connectivity principles to connect systems such as CRMs, ERPs, and cloud services.
  • Leverage prior Java or .NET expertise to support backend services, transformations, and custom integrations.
  • Develop complex data transformations using DataWeave.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into robust integration architectures.
  • Collaborate with front-end, backend, and infrastructure teams to support end-to-end workflows.
  • Conduct testing (unit, integration, regression) and performance tuning of Mule applications.
  • Implement security best practices in API design.
  • Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and release processes.
  • Provide production support and troubleshoot integration issues.
  • Maintain documentation for APIs, processes, and design decisions.
  • Solid understanding of Oracle and/or SQL Server
  • Organizational skills to handle several projects simultaneously to accommodate shifting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication, presentation and facilitation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with others
  • Exhibits a high degree of professionalism, is deadline driven and results oriented

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science information systems, or related field.
  • 4+ years of software development experience, including:
    • Hands-on MuleSoft development (Mule 4 preferred), OR
    • Strong Java or .NET web development experience with transition into MuleSoft.
  • Solid programming experience in Java or C# (.NET).
  • Proficiency with REST APIs, JSON, XML, and web services.
  • Experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform (Studio, API Manager, Runtime Manager).
  • Knowledge of integration patterns and distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MuleSoft Certification
  • Experience with Java or .Net MVC frameworks.
  • Familiarity with microservices, architecture and event-driven systems.
  • Experience integrating with platforms such as Salesforce
  • Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
