Conversational AI Engineer (Dialogflow) – Contract | 100% Remote
We’re seeking a Conversational AI Engineer with STRONG Dialogflow (ES/CX) experience to support the design, development, and optimization of intelligent virtual agents. Subject matter expert with Dialogflow. This is a fully remote contract role working on enterprise-grade conversational and generative AI solutions.
Responsibilities
Design and build conversational AI solutions using Dialogflow ES/CX (intents, entities, flows, fulfillment)
Develop backend services, middleware, and APIs (primarily Python) to integrate bots with enterprise systems
Optimize bot performance using NLP best practices, context management, and error handling
Configure and manage Generative AI components, including Playbooks and Data Stores for RAG
Collaborate with UX and business teams to define user journeys and conversation design
Implement logging, monitoring, analytics, and automated testing
Provide technical guidance and participate in code reviews as neededRequirements
Hands-on experience with Dialogflow ES/CX- Subject matter expert
Strong backend development skills, especially Python
Solid understanding of NLP and conversational design
Experience integrating conversational AI with APIs and third-party systems
Comfortable working in a fully remote, contract environment
Nice to Have: Generative AI/RAG experience, Google Cloud Platform familiarity, mentoring experience
