Description
We are looking for an Information Security Policy Consultant to support the creation, refinement, and formalization of information security and IT governance documentation for a Long-term Contract position. Based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, this role will focus on building practical policy frameworks that strengthen security oversight, guide technology usage, and align with organizational standards. The ideal candidate brings a strong command of cybersecurity policy development and can translate complex security expectations into clear, usable documentation.
Responsibilities:
Draft, organize, and maintain formal IT and information security policies, standards, and supporting procedures across key control areas.
Design governance documentation that addresses the responsible use of artificial intelligence and outlines risk-aware AI oversight practices.
Develop policy guidance for secure remote connectivity, including expectations for remote access methods and remote support tools.
Produce and refine documentation related to identity management, user permissions, and access control administration.
Create policy content covering third-party and vendor security expectations, including risk management considerations for external partners.
Evaluate existing policy materials, identify gaps or outdated content, and recommend enhancements to improve clarity, relevance, and effectiveness.
Ensure all documentation reflects recognized cybersecurity practices and supports broader organizational security and compliance objectives.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience writing, editing, and formalizing IT or information security policies and procedures.
Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and established security best practices.
Working knowledge of access control concepts, ACL-related administration, remote access security, and third-party risk considerations.
Familiarity with artificial intelligence governance, acceptable use considerations, and security implications tied to AI adoption.
Strong written communication skills with the ability to produce clear, structured, and detailed documentation.
Background in governance, risk, and compliance or broader information security governance is preferred.
Experience with cyber security environments and related control frameworks is beneficial.
