Senior Backend Engineer | Java | Spring Boot | AWS | Trust & Safety

Hybrid – Atlanta (3 days onsite) | $82/hr

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to build and enhance risk decision engines that protect products and customers from fraud and product abuse. This team supports large-scale platforms and is currently focused on clearing a high-priority backlog within a Trust & Safety engineering group.

This is a true senior-level role. You’ll ramp quickly, execute with ownership, and contribute meaningfully within weeks. The work is highly backend-focused and execution-driven.

What You’ll Do

• Design and deliver scalable Java backend services

• Execute against a high-impact engineering backlog

• Translate business requirements into clean, scalable solutions

• Partner with product, data science, and engineering leads

• Integrate with LLM services for fraud detection and automation use cases

Must-Have Experience

• Strong Java backend development

• Spring Boot

• AWS (primary cloud platform)

• System design and architecture experience

• Strong OOP fundamentals

• Experience breaking complex problems into executable components

• API and external service integrations

Nice to Have

• Go

• GCP exposure

• Fraud, risk engines, product abuse, or Trust & Safety domain experience

• Experience collaborating closely with data science teams

• Familiarity with LLM behavior and prompt engineering

Hybrid expectation: 3 days onsite in Atlanta preferred.
