Senior Data Engineer-(AI) - Only visa-independent candidates

Job Summary:

We are seeking a technically strong, hands-on Senior Data & AI Engineer to lead the design, development, and management of enterprise data and AI infrastructure. This high-impact role requires deep expertise in Snowflake, AWS, modern AI technologies, and strong understanding of the banking/financial services domain.

This position is part of a lean engineering team and requires a self-driven professional who can operate independently with minimal oversight and an entrepreneurial mindset.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Platform Design & Development:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data warehouse solutions using Snowflake and AWS

• Design and implement optimized database models, schemas, and structures

• Ensure performance tuning and cost optimization

Snowflake Platform Administration:

• Manage Snowflake environment (user access control, onboarding/offboarding, workload management)

• Monitor performance and optimize costs

• Ensure data security and compliance

AI Solution Development:

• Design and implement AI/ML solutions

• Integrate AI services including Snowflake Cortex and Amazon Bedrock

• Work with modern GenAI models and AI-driven analytics solutions

Reporting & BI Tools Management:

• Manage and support BI tools such as Sigma or Omni

• Develop and configure custom reports

• Provide business user support and training

Data Governance & Compliance:

• Implement data governance frameworks

• Ensure encryption, access control, and compliance with banking regulations

Collaboration & Process Improvement:

• Partner with IT, Security, and business teams

• Drive data quality improvements and documentation standards

Required Skills & Experience:

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering / Software Development

• 6+ years advanced Snowflake expertise (Data Warehousing & Administration)

• 4+ years advanced AWS experience (S3, IAM, Lambda, data services)

• Strong SQL and Python programming skills

• Experience with BI tools (Sigma, Omni, or similar)

• Experience designing AI/ML solutions

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

• Ability to work independently and lead complex projects

Highly Preferred:

• Experience with Snowflake Cortex

• Experience with Amazon Bedrock

• Banking systems experience such as Jack Henry

• Loan Origination Systems such as eNcino

• Financial Services / Banking domain experience

Physical Requirements:
