Summary

Our healthcare client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Strategic PMO Leader to provide executive-level guidance and leadership across their enterprise Project Management Office (PMO). This individual will play a critical role in advancing PMO maturity, establishing Agile best practices, and developing a comprehensive strategy and execution roadmap across Clinical, Revenue Cycle, and Digital Technology teams.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience leading large-scale PMO transformations, implementing Agile methodologies, and coaching project management organizations through organizational change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess the current PMO structure and develop a strategic roadmap for PMO optimization and Agile transformation.
  • Provide executive-level guidance on PMO governance, delivery frameworks, resource alignment, and operational effectiveness.
  • Mentor, coach, and support Project Managers and Digital Technology Partners across Clinical, Revenue Cycle, and Digital business units.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide Agile training, coaching, and adoption strategies.
  • Establish scalable delivery models, including defining and implementing team "pod" structures, roles, responsibilities, and governance processes.
  • Create pilot programs and execution plans to validate new PMO operating models and Agile practices.
  • Drive accountability across teams by establishing clear milestones, timelines, and performance expectations.
  • Partner closely with leadership across all three operational towers to understand business priorities and ensure alignment of project delivery practices.
  • Provide expertise in both Agile and traditional project management methodologies, helping teams determine the appropriate approach based on project needs.
  • Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience leading strategic PMO transformation initiatives within large, complex organizations.
  • Extensive experience implementing and scaling Agile methodologies across enterprise PMOs.
  • Proven success coaching, mentoring, and training Project Managers and PMO leadership teams.
  • Experience developing and delivering Agile training programs for large departments or enterprise PMOs.
  • Strong knowledge of PMO governance, organizational design, and project delivery frameworks.
  • Ability to operate as a highly directive and influential leader capable of driving organizational change.
  • Experience working across multiple business functions, including Clinical, Revenue Cycle, and Digital/IT organizations.
  • Advanced experience with Jira and Agile project management tools.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP Certification (preferred)
  • Agile Certification (required/preferred)
  • Waterfall or traditional project management certifications are a plus

Engagement Details

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Initial 6+ month contract with strong potential for extension
