  • Develop and validate new automated methods for lab assays, including protocol design, optimization, validation, and documentation aligned with PSC standards.

  • Provide hands-on technical support to laboratory users as a first-line automation expert for routine operation, troubleshooting, and workflow adaptation, especially for newly deployed Hamilton systems.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation issues across software, hardware, and integrated workcells to ensure reliable execution, error recovery, and minimal downtime.

  • Monitor system performance and uptime, identify failure modes and bottlenecks, and implement improvements for robustness and throughput.

  • Partner with PSC automation specialists and focal points to manage changes and drive continuous improvement of automated workflows.

  • Identify and implement technologies and enhancements that increase efficiency, quality, reproducibility, and scalability of automation methods.

  • Support protocol standardization, user guidance, and best practices for automation use within PSC.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.

  • 3+ years developing, validating, and supporting automated methods for laboratory workflows, including validation concepts and laboratory documentation.

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Hamilton liquid handling platforms, including Venus protocol development, debugging, and execution.

  • Advanced proficiency in Hamilton Venus (Level 2 or higher). Experience with Genera or similar scheduling tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex automation issues across software, hardware, and lab operations.

  • Hands-on experience operating and supporting integrated workcells with liquid handlers, robotic arms, and peripherals.

  • Comfort working directly with bench scientists and adapting methods to real-world lab processes.

  • Strong organizational skills, documentation rigor, and change management discipline.

  • Ability to work independently while coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with integrated scheduling and orchestration tools in lab automation environments.

  • Experience standardizing protocols and authoring user guides or best practices for automation.

  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., 1-hour lunch.

  • Interview Process: Virtual screening plus onsite.
