Senior Backend Software Engineer with strong expertise in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, AWS, and SQL. Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, AWS, and SQL
- Architect new systems or enhance existing ones to support advanced business requirements
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Managers, UX, and global engineers
- Lead and participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, from requirements to deployment
- Provide Level 3 production support (approx. 25% of role): diagnose, resolve, and prevent production issues
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of proven experience in backend software development
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring, Spring Boot, AWS, and SQL
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab), Docker, Kubernetes, and REST APIs
- Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with Level 3 production support
Nice to have
- Experience in financial services or with financial market data
- Background in highly distributed and data-intensive systems
- Proficiency in Python and its core libraries/frameworks
- Familiarity with in-memory caching (e.g., Redis), Apache Kafka, and BDD testing frameworks (Cucumber, JBehave, Karate)
- Strong understanding of multi-threading, concurrency, and performance optimization
