Goal
The new residential program is going to have two technical assistance programs - one for early design support and one for enhanced commissioning. Additionally, there are legacy projects associated with both of these efforts that also need to be continually supported. These projects need technical expertise to support existing and new architectural design partners and carbon-neutral multifamily and single-family building design projects, and also to sustain and grow this offering to as a key effort of the New
Construction Technical Assistance activity. This position will direct commissioning and design funding activities to architecture and design firms promoting and advancing carbon neutral design in new construction projects, gut renovations, and retrofits. In addition to working closely with NYSERDA staff, architects and designers, and key market actors, the position will manage design and commissioning funded projects and promote the funding opportunity.

Have technical knowledge of architectural and engineering design, building system specification, and construction practices of clean, resilient, and carbon neutral ready projects;
Have technical knowledge of residential typology, both single family and multifamily.
Understand the construction industry, building innovation, and the financial considerations of developers and building owners, or be familiar with the building design industry;
Possess technical knowledge of energy efficient equipment and renewable systems;
Have working knowledge of Passive House, LEED, and other design strategies and certifications;
Have experience managing projects including tracking deadlines, budget, and deliverables
Be able to coordinate and run productive meetings with multiple participants
Possess ability to communicate effectively with architects and designers, customers, contractors, and internal staff.
Education/Certifications required
Bachelors degree, preferably in architecture/engineering/construction management/building sciences/energy - The successful candidate will need to be extremely motivated and have exceptional organizational skills.
High Performance technical training preferred.

Manage current and future pipeline of architecture and design projects submitted through the technical assistance programs;
Complete technical review of partner and project proposals to the technical assistance programs and project deliverables;
Analyze data at a project and tactic level to identify deep energy savings and financial implications for project teams;
Contribute to managing technical assistance projects in online database, including data entry, deliverable tracking, and invoice approval;
Engage with architecture and design teams, active and new market actors, including customers and developers, to understand market trends, market gaps, and spur activity in current and future NYSERDA programs;
Support new program strategy development for technical assistance programs, including conducting market research on carbon neutral and zero emission building innovations and trends;
Review the technical assistance program portfolios to identify projects that would make strong case studies showcasing high performing building design trends or best practices;
Engage with internal and external partners to provide key information to feature technical assistance program projects in case studies and/or other content
Participate in regular meetings with various project teams;
Identify additional stakeholders for NYSERDA to collaborate with to promote and expand other related technical assistance offerings;
