Location: Ashburn, VA (Onsite)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer with strong Data Center Networking and Deployment experience to support large-scale network infrastructure deployments across Data Centers and Point of Presence (POP) locations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with network installation, troubleshooting, routing, switching, fiber optics, and Linux environments.
Required Experience
- 8+ years of overall IT experience
- 3+ years of Data Center Networking experience
- Strong Network Support and Deployment background
- Experience working in Data Center and POP environments

Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, and support network infrastructure in Data Centers and POP sites.
- Install and troubleshoot routers, switches, fiber, and optical equipment.
- Perform rack and stack activities, cable routing, and hardware installations.
- Create rack elevations, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and port mappings.
- Support network turn-up activities and deployment projects.
- Manage network assets and hardware lifecycle activities.
- Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues.
- Coordinate with vendors, carriers, and internal engineering teams.
- Support RMA processes and hardware replacements.
- Maintain accurate technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Wireshark and tcpdump
- Knowledge of optical transport technologies
- Experience working with service providers and colocation facilities
- Scripting knowledge (Python, Bash, Shell)
- CCNA, JNCIA, RHCT, or equivalent certifications
