Job description:
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP BW Technical Program Lead to drive a SAP BW to Azure Databricks migration. This is a critical onshore role responsible for technical leadership, client engagement, and delivery oversight. This is not a traditional PM role; the candidate must be capable of challenging technical designs, validating transformations, and ensuring data integrity across the platform.

 Key Responsibilities

• Lead migration of 200+ datasets across SAP modules (SD, FI, MM, QM, COPA) to Azure Databricks (Medallion Architecture)
• Own ODP-based extraction strategy via Azure Data Factory (Self-Hosted IR)
• Oversee ABAP to PySpark transformation conversion
• Ensure data accuracy and financial reconciliation with zero tolerance for discrepancies
• Drive end-to-end program delivery across all phases
• Manage offshore teams and delivery governance (standups, steering, reporting)
• Act as the primary client interface, presenting updates to leadership
• Translate business requirements into technical execution

Required Skills

• 8+ years of experience in SAP BW/BI (extractors, transformations, process chains)
• Hands-on experience with SAP ODP
• Exposure to Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, or similar platforms
• Proven experience leading SAP BW migration / decommissioning programs
• Strong knowledge of at least 3 of the 5 SAP modules (SD, FI, MM, QM, COPA)
• Experience managing onshore-offshore teams
• Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills

Preferred Skills

• Working knowledge of ABAP
• Experience with SAP CDS Views and Delta Lake
• Familiarity with Medallion Architecture patterns and Delta Lake
