Description: Our client is currently seeking a QA Tester (Mid-Level)
Location: Austin, TX or Southlake, TX (Hybrid 4 days a week onsite)
Duration: 4 months with possibility of extension
About the role
Join a large enterprise technology organization building and supporting cybersecurity and identity solutions. You'll design and execute test strategies across APIs, UI, scheduled jobs, and databases, while expanding automation for web-enabled applications in an Agile environment.
What you'll do (Responsibilities)
Design, build, and execute test scenarios/cases across API, UI, scheduled jobs, and database layers
Develop and maintain automated test scripts for web-enabled applications
Collaborate with engineering, product, and security stakeholders in an Agile delivery model
Use test management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA) to plan, execute, and report testing
Improve testing practices to ensure integrity and reliability of business operations
Support validation of cybersecurity and identity/access solutions and integrations
Communicate test status, risks, and outcomes to technical and non-technical audiences
Contribute to CI/CD-aligned testing approaches and modern testing frameworks
Minimum qualifications
years of hands-on QA engineering/testing experience, including API and UI testing
years of test automation experience for web-enabled applications (or equivalent depth)
Experience working in Agile teams and using collaboration tools
Working knowledge of software development lifecycles (analysis, development, testing, maintenance, improvement)
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and testing frameworks
Preferred qualifications
years of hands-on QA engineering and testing experience with progressive responsibilities, including designing and executing API, UI, scheduled jobs, and DB test scenarios/cases
years of experience developing test automation scripts, particularly for web-enabled applications
years of experience with Agile methodologies and collaboration tools
years of experience using JIRA for test execution and/or test case management tools
Advanced expertise in QA testing activities for a designated business area to develop effective testing practices that confirm integrity and reliability of operations
Experience supporting cybersecurity tools/applications, including Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Exposure to platforms such as Zscaler, SailPoint IdentityIQ (IIQ), PingID, and/or HYPR (or similar cybersecurity/identity technologies)
Strong communication skills across multiple departments, including technical and non-technical audiences
Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and common testing frameworks
