IBM Developer Contractor

The IBM Developer Contractor will support the Deloitte project team by developing and implementing enterprise solutions using IBM mainframe technologies. This role is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining high-performance applications while ensuring responsiveness, scalability, and system reliability.

The consultant will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, translate them into technical specifications, perform troubleshooting, conduct code reviews, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation. The role also includes technical leadership, Agile participation, and mentoring junior developers.

This position requires onsite presence 3 days per week in Malvern, PA.

• Mainframe Development Advanced (6 9 years)

• COBOL

• DB2

• Job Control Language (JCL)

• VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method)

• CICS

• z/OS

• IMS

• REXX

• Debugging tools such as Xpediter and File-Aid

• 5 8 years of experience in Mainframe development

• 1 2 years of experience in a Lead or Technical Leadership role

• Strong experience designing and developing scalable mainframe applications

• Hands-on expertise in batch job management and system performance optimization

• Experience handling production support and resolving complex incidents

• Experience working in Agile environments

• Ability to conduct code reviews and enforce coding best practices

• Strong communication skills to liaise with stakeholders and project teams

• Domain experience in Investment and Retirement

• Technical architecture and solution design experience

• Mentoring and team leadership capabilities

• Strong documentation and process adherence

• Performance tuning and resource optimization expertise
