Android Software Engineer
About the Role

As an Android Software Engineer, you will help design, build, and scale next-generation mobile experiences used by millions of customers. You will work on a modern Android platform built with Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modular architecture patterns to deliver reliable, secure, and high-performing applications.

You will partner with product managers, designers, architects, and engineering teams to develop scalable mobile solutions from concept through production. This role requires strong technical expertise in Android development, software architecture, performance optimization, testing, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin.
  • Build modern user experiences using Jetpack Compose and Android UI best practices.
  • Develop scalable and maintainable mobile architectures using MVVM, MVI, or similar design patterns.
  • Implement asynchronous and reactive programming solutions using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
  • Integrate mobile applications with REST, GraphQL, and gRPC-based backend services.
  • Build offline-capable experiences with caching, local persistence, and synchronization strategies.
  • Optimize application performance, including startup time, rendering performance, memory usage, and application size.
  • Develop and maintain automated testing frameworks, including unit, integration, UI, and regression testing.
  • Implement and support CI/CD pipelines, release automation, feature flagging, and staged deployments.
  • Monitor application reliability through observability, analytics, crash reporting, and performance metrics.
  • Participate in technical design reviews, architecture discussions, and engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues involving application lifecycle management, concurrency, memory leaks, and device compatibility.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and shipping production Android applications.
  • Experience building applications using Kotlin and the Android SDK.
  • Experience developing modern Android user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience with Kotlin Coroutines, Flow, and asynchronous programming patterns.
  • Experience implementing Android architecture components, including ViewModel, Navigation, Room, WorkManager, and DataStore.
  • Experience integrating mobile applications with RESTful APIs and backend services.
  • Experience developing automated test suites using JUnit, Espresso, Compose UI Testing, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and mobile application release processes.
  • Experience publishing and supporting applications on the Google Play Store.
  • Understanding of mobile security, authentication, data protection, and secure storage practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing and maintaining modular Android applications and multi-module Gradle architectures.
  • Experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
  • Experience with dependency injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
  • Experience optimizing application performance using Android Studio Profiler, Perfetto, Baseline Profiles, Macrobenchmark, or similar tools.
  • Experience implementing offline-first architectures, caching strategies, and local persistence layers.
  • Experience with observability, monitoring, crash analytics, and operational support for production applications.
  • Experience operating at scale in highly regulated environments such as financial services, healthcare, or insurance.
  • Experience developing shared libraries, internal developer platforms, mobile frameworks, or design systems.
  • Experience working with cloud technologies and modern distributed systems.
