All the candidates he has looked at or met had just "touched" SAP PMMO but didn't truly know it.
A&D Experience should be a given since this is primarily the only industry that uses it.
Role is REMOTE with occasional travel to the client in St. Louis

Work setup: Mostly Remote / St. Louis, MO; Travel expenses paid by client.

Reason for opening: Level 7 SME needed to support a major US-based Aerospace & Defense S/4HANA transformation program focusing on Plan-to-Perform and project manufacturing.

Deliverables & Scope: Own end-to-end PMMO/GPD solution design, material costing, FAR compliance alignment, and integration with S/4HANA Finance/Manufacturing and third-party systems like Deltek Costpoint.

Interview process: Technical panel and client-facing architecture assessment.

NON-NEGOTIABLES

SAP S/4HANA PMMO / GPD: 5+ years of hands-on expertise designing Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution (GPD) and PMMO solutions for complex manufacturing.

SAP S/4HANA Finance & Costing: 10+ years overall SAP FI/CO experience, including material costing using PMMO/GPD in project-based environments.

SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing: 5+ years of functional implementation experience.



NICE-TO-HAVES

Hands-on experience with SAP Project Systems (PS), CO, or EPPM modules.

Prior integration experience between SAP S/4HANA and Deltek Costpoint.

Direct Aerospace & Defense (A&D) or Oil & Gas industry transformation experience.

Job Description

Title: BDS SME SAP PMMO Lead Location: Remote (Mostly Remote / St. Louis, MO – Travel paid by client)  

POSITION OVERVIEW

·         We are seeking a highly skilled SAP S/4HANA PMMO/GPD Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in the Plan-to-Perform process to join our Systems Integration team supporting an Aerospace & Defense transformation program. This role is responsible for structuring, designing, and implementing complex SAP S/4HANA FP&A and project-based manufacturing solutions tailored to a global A&D organization. The SME will drive client-facing consulting, grouping strategy design, and seamless integration across SAP and non-SAP platforms.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

·         Lead solution architecture and design for SAP S/4HANA PMMO (Project Manufacturing and Management Optimization) and GPD (Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution) within a project-based manufacturing environment.

·         Collaborate with key client stakeholders to optimize financial planning, performance management, and Plan-to-Perform processes compliant with FAR regulatory standards.

·         Design and execute grouping strategies for complex manufacturing processes specific to the Aerospace & Defense industry.

·         Integrate SAP and non-SAP data sources, including live and import connections with S/4HANA and Deltek Costpoint.

·         Direct material costing and financial integration across S/4HANA Finance, Manufacturing, and Project Systems.

·         Drive technology solution alignment with client IT leadership and business process owners.

REQUIRED SKILLS

·         SAP S/4HANA PMMO / GPD implementation & architecture experience (5+ years)

·         SAP S/4HANA Finance & Material Costing experience (5+ years)

·         SAP S/4HANA Manufacturing experience (5+ years)

Job Responsibilities

·         Architect and implement SAP S/4HANA PMMO and Grouping, Pegging, and Distribution (GPD) solutions for complex manufacturing processes.

·         Partner with client executive leadership to align financial planning and performance management with regulatory and operational standards.

·         Integrate SAP and non-SAP data sources, including live connections with S/4HANA and Deltek Costpoint.

·         Oversee material costing, financial integrations, and technical delivery across cross-functional enterprise teams.
