Summary


Clearance Required: Maintains or eligible for Secret

Education Required:Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelors of Science in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering.

Experience:
  • 10+ years' experience developing modifications to military or commercial aircraft including design and substantiation.
  • Experience in FAA or NAVAIR Airworthiness requirements related to aircraft structural integrity.
  • Knowledge of and experience with DoD (MIL-STDs) and commercial standards in mechanical design
  • Knowledge of and experience with military (or commercial) operational manuals, and maintenance/sustainment technical publications
  • Strong communications skills and work ethic.

Position Description:
  • Provides mechanical engineering support to F-5 Systems Lead Engineer within the Adversary and Specialized Aircraft Program Office, PMA-226.
  • Develops mechanical repairs and modifications of the F-5N+/F+ aircraft and utilizes design and analysis methods adhering to NAVAIR structural Integrity and Airworthiness requirements.
  • Supports Subject Matter Experts in developing technical responses for respective organizations and engineering domains including but not limited to; Structures, Mechanisms, and Flight Controls.
  • As directed, coordinates and triages mechanical technical discrepancy requests between the PMA, FST, NAWCAD, and contracted services.
  • Performs various in-service tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of Adversary aircraft, weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs.
  • Develops, reviews, analyzes, and maintains familiarity with key technical engineering products (including drawings, repair dispositions, and analyses) as well as program contractual documents (including Statements of Work [SOW]).
Salary:
The projected salary range for this full-time position is $110,000 to $124,000; however, this is not a guarantee of salary.Salary will be set based on experience and contractual requirements.
