Compensation: $43 - $53 hourly
Role Overview
The Performance Platform team is seeking a Software Development Engineer to contribute to building and maintaining our simulation platform. In this position, you will implement well-defined software solutions, write tests, and support features in production. You will work with your team and stakeholders to deliver reliable software.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement well-defined software solutions based on technical designs provided by senior engineers.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality and correctness.
- Support and maintain features post-launch, including investigating and resolving production issues.
- Participate in code reviews, both submitting and reviewing peer code.
- Contribute to operational excellence through on-call rotations, runbook creation, and monitoring.
- Collaborate with teammates and stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver on commitments.
Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 1+ year(s) of professional software development experience in Java.
Technical Skills: Experience writing clean, testable, and maintainable code. Familiarity with object-oriented design principles and version control systems such as Git.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS services (e.g., DynamoDB, SQS, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
- Experience with distributed systems or microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, DynamoDB).
- Exposure to simulation or modeling systems.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
