Summary
Job Title: Advanced Metrology & Digital Data Interoperability Specialist
Location: Montreal, QC (Onsite)
Job Summary:
This position is a full-time assignment within the MB-DMI (Model-Based Definition, Manufacturing and Inspection) team, part of the Quality Organization.
MB-DMI is a transformation initiative focused on deploying processes and technologies based on 3D product definition (MBD), automation, and digital data integration across engineering, manufacturing, and inspection.
Advanced technologies such as CAD-based MBD, 3D scanning, and high-precision CMMs are leveraged to significantly improve lead times, quality, cost, and overall engine performance.
The role is primarily technical.
The selected candidate will be responsible for interpreting engineering drawings and producing high-quality 3D digital definitions in compliance with established standards, particularly geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5).
The candidate will also progressively contribute to standardization and coordination activities related to digital interoperability across the value chain.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial, or related field).
3+ years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, or inspection.
Solid experience interpreting engineering drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
Practical experience with 3D CAD modeling (CATIA, NX, Creo, or equivalent).
Experience in manufacturing and/or inspection environments (strong asset).
Interest in standards, cross-functional processes, and continuous improvement.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
On-site work required 5 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Interpret engineering drawings and create 3D digital definitions compliant with GD&T and quality standards.
Ensure the quality, consistency, and usability of 3D models and associated data for manufacturing and inspection.
Support internal teams and the supply chain in the use of digital product definitions.
Contribute to the development, improvement, and implementation of 3D digital interoperability standards across engineering, manufacturing, and inspection.
Participate in deployment activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Operations, Quality, IT).
Contribute to the creation, maintenance, and approval of required documentation to meet regulatory and organizational requirements.
Support change management activities related to the adoption of digital technologies and standards.
