Job Summary
Client is seeking an experienced Android Developer with strong expertise in Kotlin to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade mobile banking applications. The ideal candidate should have experience building secure, scalable, and high-performance Android applications while following modern Android development practices. Experience in the banking or financial services domain is highly preferred.
Required Experience
- 6+ years of Android application development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kotlin (mandatory).
- Experience developing and deploying applications on the Google Play Store.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Required Technical Skills
- Expert-level proficiency in Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK and Android Architecture Components.
- Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.
- MVVM architecture and Clean Architecture.
- Dependency Injection using Hilt or Dagger.
- RESTful APIs integration using Retrofit, OkHttp, or similar frameworks.
- Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous programming.
- Android Jetpack components:
- LiveData
- ViewModel
- Room Database
- Navigation Component
- WorkManager
- Material Design implementation.
- Local data storage using Room/SQLite.
- Firebase services (Crashlytics, Analytics, Push Notifications) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of Android lifecycle and performance optimization.
- Unit testing using JUnit, Mockito, Espresso, and UI testing frameworks.
- Version control using Git.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain Android applications using Kotlin.
- Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable mobile components.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UX Designers, QA teams, and backend developers.
- Consume REST APIs and integrate third-party SDKs.
- Optimize application performance, responsiveness, and security.
- Troubleshoot production issues and resolve defects.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.
- Write unit and integration tests to ensure application quality.
- Follow Agile methodologies and participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security and banking standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Banking or Financial Services.
- Knowledge of secure mobile application development.
- Experience with OAuth2, JWT, biometric authentication, and mobile security best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar).
- Experience with SonarQube and code quality tools.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure is a plus.
