Summary

MadgeTech is seeking a Firmware Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain firmware for embedded systems and electronic devices. This role will work closely with hardware engineers, software engineers, and product designers to create reliable, efficient, and high-quality solutions. The Firmware Engineer will contribute to the development of data loggers and other embedded products that accurately and reliably collect, process, and record data across a variety of applications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop firmware for embedded systems.

• Collaborate with hardware engineers, software engineers, and product designers to ensure firmware meets system requirements.

• Write and maintain firmware documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and release notes.

• Develop and execute firmware test plans to ensure high quality and reliability.

• Debug firmware issues and work with hardware engineers to resolve them.

• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to other engineers.

• Keep up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to firmware development.

• Develop test plans and procedures to validate firmware functionality, performance, and reliability under various operating conditions and use cases.

• Document firmware design, implementation details, and testing procedures to facilitate maintenance and support.

• Ensure firmware compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and certifications applicable to datalogging devices.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.

• Strong experience in firmware development for embedded systems.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and assembly languages.

• Experience with real-time operating systems and device drivers.

• Sound knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded systems.

• Ability to read schematics and hardware data sheets.

• Strong problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
