The Sr. API Engineer will play a critical role in designing and building RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Node.js. The ideal candidate will have strong backend development expertise, experience with Terraform and AWS, and a Bachelor's degree. This is a primarily backend-focused role, though some UI experience (e.g., React) or willingness to learn would be a plus. The project involves building custom fine-grain authorization systems and will run through early next year. The successful candidate will work in a close-knit, agile team environment, taking full accountability and ownership of their contributions.
About the Position / Current Initiatives: The team is working on Graph APIs and fine-grain authorization, building their own version for a specific use case. This project will continue until early next year.
About the Team Structure + Culture: The team consists of 4 junior-to-mid-level developers. No seniors report directly to the manager, but Raghu does have some senior team members. The team operates in a close-knit, agile environment with a lot of ownership of their technology and openness to solutions.
Job Must Haves:
- GraphQL experience on the backend
- Terraform experience with AWS
- Experience building RESTful and GraphQL APIs with Node.js
- Bachelor's degree
- Mid-level (5 years)
- 100% individual contributor who takes accountability and responsibility for assigned work
Job Nice to Haves:
- Some UI experience (e.g., React) or willingness to learn
- Prior Ally experience
- Not specifically financial services experience
