Job Title: Senior QA Engineer
Job Duration: 6 months contract possibility to extend
Location: Hybrid - Stillwater, MN
Job Summary:
- This Senior QA Engineer will serve as a critical member of the Cub Foods IT team, responsible for end-to-end quality assurance of point-of-sale systems and related in-store applications.
- The role encompasses manual and automated testing, process improvement, cross-team coordination, and downstream system validation.
- This person will be expected to operate autonomously, drive QA best practices, and work collaboratively with business partners to right-size testing scope and ensure production quality.
Responsibilities:
- Lead QA testing for Catapult POS and in-store applications, including end-to-end regression and functional testing
- Maintain and expand automated test suites using ACCELQ
- Perform validation testing for OS security patches, network changes, proxy/GRE tunnel changes, and security tool upgrades
- Test downstream integrations: Bear Balance, e-commerce, Inmar, Solitran, Income, Centus, pharmacy
- Manage the Jira QA board; guide teams through the QA intake process
- Serve as Scrum Master for the QA function
- Proactively engage with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and right-size testing scope
- Identify areas across the store IT environment that may not be adequately tested and propose coverage
- Document QA processes and maintain standards in Confluence
- Absorb project-driven testing spikes while maintaining day-to-day QA operations
Must-Have Requirements:
- 5+ years of QA testing experience
- Retail or pharmacy domain experience (required)
- Point-of-sale (POS) testing experience
- Strong business communication skills; ability to work directly with non-technical business partners
- Self-starter mentality; able to operate independently with minimal direction
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, transitional environments where processes are still being established
Nice-to-Have Requirements:
- ACCELQ test automation experience
- Jira and Confluence experience
- Scrum Master experience or certification
- 1 2 years of Business Analyst experience (the unicorn qualifier)
- QA Lead experience
- Grocery retail background specifically
- Experience with Catapult POS (small vendor; not expected)
The projected hourly range for this position is $60-65/hr.
