IT System Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking an IT System Specialist in Houston, TX.

Summary:
This is a temporary Systems Specialist position supporting Oracle eBusiness Suite (EBS) R12.2.x (on-premise). This role requires working with minimal supervision in a production support environment, collaborating closely with business users and a large Oracle support team to ensure stable system operations, effective issue resolution, and high customer satisfaction. The candidate will participate in change management activities, testing efforts, and continuous service improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Provide functional and limited technical support for Oracle EBS Financials (AR, AP, GL, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, iExpense, iSupplier) and Oracle Projects (Costing, Billing, Accounting)
* Serve as a customer-facing analyst, clearly articulating system behavior, identifying root causes of issues, and recommending workarounds or permanent solutions
* Distinguish standard Oracle functionality from customizations and extensions
* Troubleshoot application and data issues using diagnostics, SQL queries, and investigative analysis
* Develop and execute ad hoc reports to assess issues and support decision-making
* Create and execute data correction scripts to resolve data inconsistencies
* Conduct conference room pilots and support user acceptance testing for fixes, enhancements, and system improvements
* Complete required change management documentation and comply with applicable internal controls
* Collaborate with business users and technical teams to validate solutions and ensure regression scenarios are identified and tested
* Program and support application changes to address root causes of recurring issues
* Document incidents, resolutions, workarounds, and recovery steps using incident management tools

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
* 5-7 years of hands-on experience supporting Oracle eBusiness Suite R12.2 (on-premise), with strong experience in Financials and/or Oracle Projects
* Prior experience in an application support or techno-functional role
* Experience with Oracle APEX development is preferred
* Experience working in a multi-developer, team-based environment
* Current or recent experience (within the past year) working on Oracle EBS R12.2 on-premise environments
* Solid understanding of data flow between subledgers and General Ledger
* Working knowledge of PL/SQL
* Familiarity with Oracle EBS data model and architecture within Financials and Projects
* Exposure to Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is preferred
* Strong SQL skills with experience writing queries, diagnostics, and data correction scripts
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts in business-friendly language
* Ability to review and understand programming logic in tools such as Oracle Workflow, APEX, and BI Publisher
* Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
