Application Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking an Application Engineer responsible for supporting, maintaining, and modernizing the Performance Insights application, a Java-based system used for performance calculations and reporting across our client's accounts. The role will transition the application from Java to a strategic data platform, likely Snowflake.

Responsibilities:
* Learn and support the existing Java application, ensuring business continuity and addressing key person risk
* Perform light enhancements and maintenance as needed during the transition phase
* Lead or contribute to re-platforming the application to Snowflake, including rewriting and modernizing components
* Collaborate with the data platform team to integrate Pi into the broader strategic data platform and UI
* Work closely with team members

REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong experience in Java
* Proficiency in Snowflake and data engineering
* Must have financial services experience, specifically in investment performance calculation and reporting
* Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is beneficial
* Solid SQL skills; Python experience is a plus
* Experience with scheduling tools (e.g., Tidal) is a nice-to-have

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
