Summary
Title: ZDLRA Consultant
Location: Canada- Remote
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced ZDLRA (Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance) Consultant with deep hands-on expertise in Oracle ZDLRA and Exadata engineered systems.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience with the architecture, configuration, installation, setup, integration, administration, and best practices of ZDLRA and Exadata appliances. This role is focused on the appliance and engineered-system infrastructure, rather than traditional database performance tuning on Exadata.
Key Responsibilities
Design, configure, implement, and support Oracle ZDLRA environments.
Perform ZDLRA appliance setup, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
Design and implement ZDLRA architecture and deployment strategies based on business and recovery requirements.
Configure ZDLRA with Oracle database environments and Exadata engineered systems.
Configure and manage database protection policies, recovery windows, and backup/recovery configurations.
Support integration between ZDLRA, Exadata, Oracle databases, and related Oracle infrastructure.
Implement Oracle-recommended ZDLRA best practices for availability, performance, scalability, and recoverability.
Perform health checks and proactively identify appliance configuration and infrastructure issues.
Troubleshoot ZDLRA appliance, connectivity, replication, backup, and recovery issues.
Support ZDLRA upgrades, patches, maintenance, and lifecycle activities.
Assist with capacity planning, system expansion, and appliance optimization.
Develop architecture diagrams, configuration documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.
Provide technical guidance on Exadata engineered-system architecture and infrastructure.
Collaborate with database administrators, infrastructure teams, storage teams, and application teams.
Participate in disaster recovery, backup/recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
Ensure implementations follow Oracle standards and enterprise operational requirements.
Required Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle ZDLRA / Zero Data Loss Recovery Appliance.
Deep knowledge of Oracle Exadata engineered systems.
Strong understanding of ZDLRA architecture, components, configuration, and deployment.
Experience with ZDLRA setup, installation, configuration, and administration.
Experience integrating ZDLRA with Oracle databases and Exadata environments.
Strong knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery architecture.
Experience with ZDLRA protection policies and recovery configurations.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Experience implementing Oracle best practices for ZDLRA and Exadata.
Ability to work with infrastructure, database, storage, and application teams.
Preferred Skills
Experience with Exadata Database Machine architecture and infrastructure.
Experience with Oracle RAC and Data Guard environments.
Knowledge of Oracle Recovery Manager (RMAN).
Experience with ZDLRA upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
Experience with ZDLRA replication and disaster recovery configurations.
Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager.
Experience with Oracle engineered systems such as Exadata, ZDLRA, and related Oracle appliances.
