IT Support Specialist

Description

We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to join our team in Tampa, Florida in a contract-to-permanent position. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical specialist who enjoys helping employees stay productive by resolving day-to-day technology issues across computers, software, mobile devices, and related equipment. The person in this role will support end users in a fast-moving environment, contribute to broader IT initiatives, and deliver dependable service with clear communication and a courteous approach.

Responsibilities:
Provide front-line technical support to employees by diagnosing and resolving issues involving workstations, software applications, and common IT systems.
Track, prioritize, and update support requests through the help desk platform to ensure timely follow-up and resolution.
Configure, deploy, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and other end-user hardware as business needs arise.
Install, upgrade, and support operating systems and business applications, including Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 tools.
Assist users with questions related to device functionality, application use, and basic troubleshooting steps for computers and mobile technology.
Escalate more complex technical problems to appropriate IT team members while documenting findings and actions taken.
Create user-friendly guidance and deliver basic instruction that helps employees resolve routine issues more independently.
Support IT projects and additional operational tasks as assigned while following company expectations for safety, quality, and productivity.

Requirements

2+ years of experience supporting computer, software, or network-related issues in a help desk or desktop support environment.
Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and Windows 11, along with the Microsoft 365 environment.
Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, mobile device, and basic network connectivity problems.
Familiarity with Active Directory and Remote Desktop Services in a business environment.
Strong customer service approach with clear verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage priorities effectively, solve problems independently, and work well within a collaborative team.
Sound judgment, discretion with sensitive information, and the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced setting.
High school diploma required; additional coursework or a degree in Computer Science is preferred.
