Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Technician/Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting internal financial controls. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with multiple departments and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, review, and process Operations & Maintenance (O&M) invoices for accuracy, proper coding, approvals, and compliance with company purchasing and accounting policies
- Verify invoice details against purchase orders, contracts, and receiving documentation
- Enter invoices into the Ariba financial system and ensure timely routing for approvals
- Monitor invoice queues and resolve issues including pricing discrepancies, missing documentation, and vendor inquiries
- Prepare and reconcile weekly and monthly Accounts Payable reports
- Support month-end close activities, including O&M accruals and invoice reconciliations
- Maintain organized electronic and physical records for audit and document retention purposes
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status, discrepancies, and required documentation
- Collaborate with procurement, project controls, and site teams to resolve invoice coding and processing issues
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives to streamline Accounts Payable processes and improve efficiency
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or financial administrative support
- Basic understanding of Accounts Payable processes, purchase orders, and accounting principles
- Experience with ERP or financial systems such as SAP and Ariba preferred
- Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
