Location: New York, New York (Onsite)
Role Overview
We are seeking a senior, hands-on Full-Stack Developer to join a core engineering team. This role involves designing, developing, and implementing applications to support front-office and operations groups. The position will play a key part in modernizing the existing platform, driving migration to a scalable, cloud-based microservice architecture, and integrating AI into development practices to enhance scalability and reduce latency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop core back-end components in Java, utilizing Spring Boot.
- Build and design messaging channels interfacing with other venues and exchanges using industry-standard protocols.
- Deploy applications in a cloud environment, which may include Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Operate mission-critical systems and deliver day-to-day enhancements across front-office and operations.
- Consolidate existing Order Management Systems (OMS) into a new platform.
- Provide second-level production support and troubleshoot issues.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders and deliver enhancements within a platform operating model.
- Mentor junior developers.
Required Qualifications
Education: A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline is required, or equivalent work experience.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in software development is required.
Technical Skills:- Strong proficiency with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or MQ.
- Proficiency with databases and SQL.
- Experience with cloud deployment and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Git, as well as Windows and Linux environments.
- Regular integration of AI coding-assist tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) into the development workflow is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- An advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience with in-memory cache technologies such as Hazelcast or GemFire.
- Previous experience in the securities or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with Angular and Python is a plus.
- Strong communication and organization skills.
