Role Summary
As the Lead Agilist, you will guide and scale Agile practices across a multi?product portfolio, ensuring teams are aligned, empowered, and continuously improving. You will directly lead both Product Agilists and Team Agilists, helping each team deliver high?value outcomes through consistent practices, strong coaching, and effective flow management.
In this role, you will influence transformation across Product, Design, and Engineering organizations by removing systemic impediments, promoting data?driven decision?making, and collaborating closely with senior leadership. You will also partner with the Agile Center of Excellence to shape and execute broader business transformation initiatives that enhance delivery and organizational agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop Product Agilists and Team Agilists across multiple products.
- Establish and refine Agile standards, playbooks, and delivery practices to promote consistency and maturity.
- Partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to improve flow, mitigate risks, and resolve systemic impediments.
- Collaborate with Agile CoE and VMO leadership to align transformation, governance, and portfolio?level processes.
- Participate in and contribute to the Agilist Community of Practice to enhance shared learning and capability growth.
- Guide teams and products toward higher levels of Agile and Lean maturity across the portfolio.
- Facilitate cross?team alignment and communication to ensure transparency and delivery effectiveness.
- Identify portfolio?level impediments, surface risks, and lead coordinated efforts to address root causes.
Key Requirements
- 6+ years of Agile leadership experience, including 3+ years coaching programs or team?of?teams and 2+ years managing Agile practitioners.
- Proven success scaling Agile practices across multiple products and technology teams.
- Strong people?leadership experience with a history of developing high?performing Agile leaders.
- Deep expertise in Lean and Agile frameworks (e.g., Kanban, SAFe, LeSS, Nexus, ToC).
- Mastery of Agile delivery practices such as Scrum, Kanban, and XP.
- Demonstrated skill in facilitation, coaching, servant leadership, and conflict resolution.
- Experience supporting both new product introduction and ongoing product evolution.
- Working knowledge of Lean Portfolio Management concepts and techniques.
- Ability to articulate transformation needs, set a vision, and drive measurable execution.
- Understanding of modern organizational design principles that enable faster value delivery.
- Preferred: Experience in fintech, SaaS, or other fast?paced technology environments; familiarity with portfolio management practices; and a data?driven mindset supported by strong analytical skills.
