Control Engineer

Position: Controls System Engineer
Location: Columbus, IN 47201 – 100% Onsite
Duration: 12 Months
Positions: 2 Openings
Experience: 2-6 years preferred
Education: Electrical Engineering / Instrumentation Engineering

Required Skills

• Rockwell Automation ControlLogix system design

• PLC programming using Studio 5000

• Ladder logic, motion, and safety programming

• Rockwell HMI programming using FactoryTalk View Studio

• PLC hardware and communication protocols

• Machine safety systems

• PLC program development on Rockwell platforms

• Siemens Step 7 / Siemens PLC experience is preferred

• Function Block and Structured Text programming is a plus

Preferred Experience

• Robotic Systems: Fanuc, Nachi

• Vision Systems: Cognex, Keyence, Coherix

• Fanuc PMC ladder programming in CNC equipment

• MES programming and PLC/HMI changes

• Production and plant engineering support

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and support control systems.

• Install and provide technical support for PLC-based hardware and software.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve plant processes and equipment.

• Support PLC, HMI, MES programming changes and production issues.

• Work with equipment suppliers on programming, networking, architecture, hardware, and documentation standards.

• Support plant transformation activities across Assembly and Machining areas.

• Mentor and support less experienced Controls Engineers.
