Ready to step into a hands-on leadership role where your expertise in electrical engineering, industrial controls, and automation drives real impact? This opportunity places you at the center of a high-performance manufacturing environment, leading critical instrumentation and controls (I&C) projects, optimizing plant systems, and ensuring reliability across complex operations. You'll serve as both a technical expert and team leader-guiding daily activities and stepping in to lead when management is unavailable.


Hours and Pay


  • Salary: Up to $155,000 + 8% bonus (Lead level)

  • Alternate Level: Electrical Engineer option at approximately $105,000 + 6% bonus

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

  • Status: Direct Hire

Daily Responsibilities


  • Program and troubleshoot PLC and HMI systems using Rockwell RSLogix/Studio 5000 and Safety PLCs

  • Design and implement automation systems, including high-speed motion control with VFDs, DC drives, and servo systems

  • Define system architecture and select components such as PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and safety hardware

  • Maintain and optimize manufacturing equipment controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems

  • Support plant-wide electrical troubleshooting alongside technicians, electricians, and process engineers

  • Oversee and improve facility power distribution systems to meet operational demands

  • Lead and support automation upgrades, process improvements, and cost reduction initiatives

  • Ensure compliance with GMP, OSHA, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, and UL safety standards

  • Update and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation using AutoCAD

  • Manage PLC program backups and documentation on plant network systems

  • Promote and support EH&S policies and electrical safety training initiatives

  • Drive Lean Manufacturing practices, including 5S+1 and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering and maintenance teams


Requirements


  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Minimum 10 years of electrical engineering or maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong expertise in industrial controls, drive systems, and power distribution

  • Experience with PLC programming, automation systems, and instrumentation

  • Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (NEC, OSHA)

  • Familiarity with calibration methods and preventive/predictive maintenance

  • Proven ability to lead teams and provide technical guidance

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting tools preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and documentation systems
