Summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Digital Engineering Environment (DEE) Cloud Architect SME. In this pivotal role, you will lead the rapid standup and ongoing support of the SSC Program Management Office, ensuring advanced cloud-based solutions enable seamless operations, rapid acquisitions, and secure workflows required for mission-critical systems. The DEE Cloud Architect SME will design, implement, and optimize scalable, resilient, and compliant cloud infrastructures to support the program's foundational functions, collaborative engineering processes, and operational objectives.

This position supports systems engineering and program-level functions across mission-critical space vehicles, ground systems, and fire control systems.

Responsibilities -

Cloud Solution Design for SSC PMO Support
  • Architect and deploy secure and scalable cloud-based solutions tailored for rapidly standing up and supporting the SSC Program Management Office for Golden Dome.
  • Implement cloud infrastructure optimized for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes including collaboration, data access, change management, and engineering workflows using Microsoft PLx tools.
  • Scalability Design: Ensure cloud solutions accommodate growing workloads, increasing user demands, and future system integrations to support rapid acquisitions and DEE expansion.
  • System Integration: Seamlessly integrate engineering tools (e.g., MBSE platforms, PLM software, CAD, and simulation tools) with the cloud environment to enhance PMO operations.

Security and Compliance
  • Cybersecurity Frameworks: Implement security controls that adhere to DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and relevant guidelines such as NIST SP 800-53 and FedRAMP for handling classified or sensitive data.
  • Access and Identity Management: Design secure Identity Access Management (IAM) frameworks to protect sensitive SSC PMO data and ensure operational compliance across all cloud workflows.
  • STIG Compliance: Apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements to all hosted cloud systems, ensuring hardened infrastructure and mission security readiness.

Cloud Deployment and Operations
  • Containerization: Enable rapid deployment of scalable and microservices-based solutions using container technologies.
  • Infrastructure Automation: Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation to automate provisioning, monitoring, and patch management for cloud resources that support SSC PMO objectives.
  • High Availability: Architect fault-tolerant and redundant systems optimized for uninterrupted support to program management office workflows and acquisitions.

Support for Rapid PMO Functions and Acquisitions
  • Data and Collaboration Solutions: Design and deploy databases and storage systems for managing lifecycle engineering data and deliverables associated with rapid acquisition operations.
  • Collaboration Frameworks: Support simultaneous access to PMO tools and workflows by multidisciplinary teams, ensuring efficient and secure communication of program-critical information.
  • Disaster Recovery Protocols: Build robust disaster recovery solutions to safeguard Golden Dome SBI PMO operations and ensure resilience across all engineering and acquisition activities.

Performance Optimization for PMO Enablement
  • Optimize cloud-based solutions to meet compute-intensive demands of engineering workflows and ensure efficiency in PMO acquisition deliverables.
  • Cost Optimization: Develop strategies to manage program budgets without sacrificing performance or functionality, ensuring cloud operations remain scalable and cost-effective.

Innovation and Emerging Technologies
  • Emerging Capabilities: Design solutions that enable the SSC PMO to adopt emerging technologies, tools, and engineering frameworks in alignment with overall program goals.
  • AI/ML Integration: Architect cloud-enabled artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to support predictive analytics and decision-making for acquisitions and program operations.

Collaboration and Communication for SSC PMO Standup
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with program managers, engineers, cybersecurity experts, and cross-functional teams to align cloud designs with SSC PMO operational needs.
  • Develop and maintain detailed architectural design documents to ensure smooth support and scalability of PMO workflows.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years of cloud architecture experience, including work supporting government, defense, or aerospace environments.
  • Expertise with Digital Engineering Environment tools and their integration into cloud architectures to enable secure lifecycle management and collaboration frameworks.
  • Proven proficiency in DoD compliance frameworks, including RMF, CMMC, FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, and STIG standards.
  • Practical experience with creating automated cloud infrastructures using IoC tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
  • Extensive knowledge of containerization tools and their application to scalable engineering workflows.
  • Strong foundation in digital engineering tools and methodologies, including MBSE systems, PLM tools, and simulation platforms.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years of cloud architecture experience, including work with SAP/SCI environments and supporting high-security mission-critical operations.
  • Master's degree in Cloud Computing, Systems Engineering, or related fields is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps environments to support rapid system prototyping and PMO agility for acquisitions.
  • Expertise integrating AI/ML frameworks into cloud-based solutions to promote predictive analytics for PMO efficiency.

Clearance Requirements
  • Active TOP SECRET (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI).
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
