Summary

Principal Experience Strategist

We’re looking for a Principal Experience Strategist to lead the discovery and definition work behind new products and services. You’ll own the front end of the design process—assessing the current state, defining the future experience, and translating insights into a validated, actionable plan that enables visual/interface designers and engineers to build with confidence rather than guesswork. The ideal candidate brings a background in service design, experience strategy, or UX research across products, services, or both; strong facilitation skills and the ability to align stakeholders with competing priorities; and excellent written and visual communication skills, with a talent for turning ambiguous discovery work into clear direction that decision-makers can support. You should also be comfortable working in a fast-moving, iterative environment where requirements evolve and must be actively tracked rather than treated as fixed.

Requirements:

Research & Discovery

Experience planning and conducting stakeholder interviews to surface business objectives and priorities
Experience recruiting and running end-user research (interviews, contextual inquiry, or similar) to uncover pain points and unmet needs
Ability to run competitive or comparative assessments to understand market and industry expectations
Skilled in journey mapping: documenting an end-to-end experience and its touchpoints clearly enough for others to act on

Synthesis & Concept Definition

Ability to synthesize research into a clear point of view, not just a summary of findings
Experience developing future-state concepts and communicating them in a form stakeholders can react to and align around
Experience with service blueprinting or similar methods for documenting both user-facing and behind-the-scenes components of an experience
Comfort facilitating prioritization workshops with mixed audiences (business stakeholders and technical SMEs)

Planning & Roadmapping

Experience translating concepts into a sequenced roadmap or backlog based on complexity, dependencies, and priority
Ability to identify cross-functional dependencies (technical, organizational, design) before they become blockers
Experience establishing or working within a requirements-validation process, a clear checkpoint where direction gets confirmed before broader design production begins

Traceability & Rigor

Comfort working in a model where design decisions are expected to trace back to a documented requirement or research insight, not personal preference
Experience flagging and managing the downstream impact of scope or requirement changes on work already in progress
Ability to define what a concept or interaction needs to accomplish at a requirements level, distinct from how it should look, so it can hand off cleanly to visual/interface design or service delivery teams

Preferred Skills:

Experience leading or mentoring other designers
Comfort driving client-facing conversations and presenting directly to stakeholders and leadership
Confidence educating clients and cross-functional partners on design process, methods, and rationale
Experience supporting or contributing to design system creation
Experience working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and delivery teams as a regular part of your process
Industry experience in regulated verticals (telecom, healthcare, automotive)
Experience designing for data-dense, analytics-heavy, or otherwise complex information environments
