Job#: 3022155 Job Description: Project OverviewThis project focuses on implementing Epic, a comprehensive electronic medical record (EMR) and revenue cycle management system, across a large health system and its newly acquired hospital network. The work includes transitioning from the current Cerner platform to Epic, integrating approximately 250 applications, and ensuring seamless operations following the system migration.
Additionally, the project includes exiting an existing Transition Services Agreement (TSA) with a former technology services provider. This requires moving all supported applications and systems to the organization's internal infrastructure. The overarching goals are to enhance operational efficiency, improve patient care delivery, and reduce costs associated with legacy systems.
Responsibilities- Lead projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Oversee the transition of applications and systems from the outgoing technology services provider to the organization's internal environment.
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are fully understood and met.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans outlining scope, milestones, deliverables, and resource needs.
- Track project progress, identify risks, and execute mitigation strategies as needed.
- Facilitate effective communication and coordination across project teams and stakeholder groups.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, procedures, and compliance requirements.
- Provide clear, consistent reporting to senior leadership on project progress, risks, and performance metrics.
- Manage the migration of 150+ applications off the TSA within an 18-month timeframe, coordinating closely with application owners and vendors.
- Handle contract renegotiations or transitions for applications moving to new service providers or cloud-based solutions, ensuring complete and accurate data migration.
- Coordinate integration efforts for applications that will remain in place but must interface with the new Epic system, including oversight of technical teams and testing.
- Lead change management efforts with business stakeholders, helping them understand impacts, cost implications, and process changes.
- Deliver weekly or monthly status reports across project cohorts, monitoring budgets, timelines, and dependencies.
- Potentially lead daily standups or other project management ceremonies for high-priority or time-sensitive transitions.
- Work closely with legal, IT infrastructure, and other cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth and compliant exit from the TSA.
Qualifications- Demonstrated experience in project management, ideally within healthcare or IT.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects in a complex environment.
- Familiarity with project management tools, methodologies, and best practices.
- PMP or similar professional certification is preferred.
