Summary

Data is increasingly central to how the North America Operating Unit (NAOU) and its bottling partners understand the market, serve customers, improve execution, and make commercial decisions. Realizing that value often requires more than technology, it requires a leader who can connect business priorities, data capabilities, operating processes, and decision-makers across a complex system.

The Director, Data Enablement & Standards will lead high-priority efforts that make data easier to understand, access, connect, and use across NAOU and the North America system. This leader will work across business teams, Bottlers, Data & AI, and enabling functions to identify barriers, shape practical solutions, establish clear ways of working, and move cross-functional priorities from ambiguity to sustained action.

Initial areas of focus are expected to include strengthening how NAOU manages and realizes value from third-party data and advancing shared data standards across the North America system. Over time, the role may take on additional data enablement priorities where stronger coordination, common approaches, and focused leadership can help the system move faster and make better decisions.

Role purpose

Lead strategic data enablement priorities that require coordination across business, technical, and system partners, translating business needs into shared standards, repeatable processes, and clear accountability. The role owns the approach, coordination, and progress on agreed priorities, while business, specialist, and technical teams retain ownership of their data, decisions, and platforms.

Key responsibilities
  • Shape the data enablement portfolio. Identify and prioritize opportunities where common approaches, stronger coordination, or focused leadership can unlock business value from data. Establish clear outcomes, roadmaps, decision rights, and measures of progress.
  • Turn complex needs into practical action. Translate business challenges into achievable data, process, standards, governance, and operating-model improvements. Develop options, clarify tradeoffs, recommend a path, and move stakeholders toward decisions.
  • Build alignment across the North America system. Bring together NAOU, Bottlers, CONA, CCBSS, and enabling functions around shared priorities. Build commitment through business value and practical recommendations.
  • Improve how data moves from need to use. Examine the processes through which data is identified, acquired, defined, maintained, accessed, shared, and applied. Resolve unclear handoffs, fragmented ownership, duplication, and other barriers that slow progress.
  • Advance shared data standards. Lead priority efforts to align definitions, hierarchies, attributes, mappings, and related ways of working where greater consistency creates meaningful business or technical value.
  • Increase the value of external data. Lead and operate how NAOU identifies, acquires, governs, shares, and uses third-party data. Connect business needs, vendor capabilities, contractual rights, costs, access, consumption, and renewal decisions while maintaining appropriate business ownership.
  • Enable responsible data access and use. Partner with Legal, Procurement, Privacy, Finance, and technical teams to translate new business, analytical, sharing, and AI use cases into clear requirements and workable decisions.
  • Build capabilities that last. Establish practical mechanisms for intake, prioritization, discovery, decision-making, adoption, and follow-through. Use Data & AI tools where they can reduce friction and improve decision support while maintaining human accountability.

Education, Experience, Skills, and Behaviors
  • Education. Bachelor's degree in Business, Data & Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience, required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Relevant experience. 7+ years of relevant experience in data, analytics, data management, or related business roles, including leading cross-functional initiatives, required.
  • Data and analytics fluency. Understands datasets, definitions, hierarchies, lineage, quality, and business use. Can connect commercial needs with technical considerations and engage credibly with business and data teams.
  • Influence without authority. Builds trust across organizations with different incentives. Makes the case for change, negotiates practical commitments, and secures buy-in rather than relying on escalation or formal authority.
  • Decision-oriented leadership. Frames problems, develops options, recommends a path, and helps stakeholders make decisions. Turns agreement into named owners, clear expectations, and follow-through.
  • Independent ownership and judgment. Determines what needs to happen next, establishes priorities, anticipates issues, and drives outcomes without detailed direction. Knows when to act, seek input, or escalate.
  • Process design and continuous improvement. Can map a process across teams, diagnose root causes, and translate findings into improvements that people can adopt and sustain.
  • Vendor and commercial understanding. Experience with vendor relationships, data agreements, or related commercial processes. Can identify requirements and restrictions and work effectively with Legal and Procurement specialists.
  • Practical capability building. Comfortable creating structure where it does not yet exist. Starts with a workable approach, tests it, and improves it without overbuilding.
