JOB SUMMARY

Delivers high-quality technical solutions and platform capabilities that enable product delivery teams to build, integrate, and operate solutions on the Salesforce platform. Works as a member of the Salesforce Core Platform Engineering team with responsibility for platform governance, security, DevOps, enablement, monitoring, integration services, and reusable platform components.

This role focuses on evolving the Salesforce platform ecosystem. The engineer develops and supports platform capabilities, integration services, security controls, monitoring solutions, and reusable packages that improve scalability, reliability, and developer productivity across the enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and maintain reusable Salesforce platform capabilities, packages, services, and automation that support multiple product teams.

  • Support Salesforce platform governance including security controls, access management, compliance requirements, architecture standards, and platform best practices.

  • Design, build, and maintain Salesforce integration capabilities using Salesforce APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native services.

  • Build and support API enablement solutions including exposing Salesforce functionality through custom services deployed on AWS ECS and proxied through API management platforms such as Apigee.

  • Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, source control strategies, deployment automation, release processes, and environment management practices for Salesforce and related platform services.

  • Implement platform monitoring, telemetry, alerting, observability, and operational dashboards to ensure platform reliability and performance.

  • Develop reusable Apex components, packages, automation, and platform extensions that enable internal engineering teams to deliver solutions efficiently.

  • Partner with solution teams to provide platform guidance, integration support, architectural reviews, and technical enablement.

  • Participate in platform architecture discussions and contribute to platform roadmaps, standards, and technology evaluations.

  • Perform root cause analysis, resolve platform defects, manage technical debt, and continuously improve platform stability and maintainability.

  • Contribute to automated testing frameworks and quality engineering practices that support platform reliability and release confidence.

  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate across architecture, product, operations, security, and engineering teams.

MANDATORY EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

  • 3+ years of experience supporting and engineering solutions on the Salesforce Platform with emphasis on governance, security, platform operations, DevOps, integration, and enablement.

  • 2-5 years of software engineering experience developing and supporting enterprise applications in Agile environments.

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Platform technologies including Apex, Lightning Platform, Salesforce APIs, Packaging and deployment frameworks, Platform security and access controls, Salesforce monitoring and operational tooling

  • Experience developing reusable platform services, shared components, managed/unmanaged packages, or enablement capabilities supporting multiple delivery teams.

  • Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Git-based development workflows for Salesforce and cloud-native applications.

  • Hands-on experience with modern programming languages including Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, or Groovy.

  • 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying cloud-native applications on AWS or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Experience deploying and operating containerized workloads using ECS, Kubernetes, or equivalent orchestration platforms.

  • 2+ years of experience designing and implementing REST APIs and integration services.

  • 2+ years of experience with event-driven architectures, asynchronous messaging, and Kafka.

  • Experience with API management platforms such as Apigee or equivalent platforms is strongly preferred.

  • Experience implementing monitoring, telemetry, observability, and operational support practices for enterprise platforms.

COMPETENCIES

  • Understands platform engineering principles and applies best practices for scalability, reliability, security, and maintainability.

  • Applies software development standards including code reviews, static analysis, secure coding practices, and automated testing.

  • Proficient with Git-based source control, branching strategies, release management, and deployment automation.

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform security, governance, access controls, and operational best practices.

  • Experienced in DevOps practices including CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, containerization, configuration management, observability, and monitoring.

  • Effectively troubleshoots complex platform and integration issues using logs, telemetry, and monitoring data.

  • Works collaboratively with architects, developers, product teams, and operational stakeholders to enable platform adoption and success.

  • Communicates technical concepts clearly to both engineering and business audiences.

  • Continuously identifies opportunities to improve platform capabilities, developer experience, operational excellence, and team effectiveness.

  • Salesforce Administrator or related Salesforce certifications are preferred.
