As a GNC Analyst on the Orion program, you will play a pivotal role in defining and implementing the guidance, navigation, and control architecture for one of the nation's most critical and complex space systems. Through this position you will gain hands-on experience developing, testing, verifying, and validating the human-space-flight algorithms that will enable Orion to support the upcoming Artemis missions.
In this role you typically will:
Develop Simulations and Models to accurately predict the behavior of the system
Develop the high-fidelity flight simulation software used to verify mission capabilities
Utilize these modeling and simulation tools to design, develop, and test GNC algorithms
Collaborate with the software team to develop flight-worthy code based on GNC algorithm prototypes
Provide support to all GNC planning, requirements generation, software verification & validation activities, and pre and post-test support
Perform design and analysis of guidance, navigation, and control algorithms as it pertains to flight and hardware testing
Use your excellent communication skills to work across the Lockheed Martin organization and customer/user community to ensure consensus and understanding of GNC performance
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or similar field of study
Broad technical skills including rigid body dynamics, control theory, and/or computer programming.
Strong team collaboration, communication and presentation skills
This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
Desired skills
Related Program or Project experience
Proficiency in the following engineering tools: MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, Python
Experience with 6-Degree of Freedom (6DOF) simulations and physics-based modeling
Demonstrated experience with analysis of feedback control systems, closed loop guidance, or navigation algorithms.
Experience with model based software development using Simulink (autocoding)
Experience developing robust flight software from GNC algorithm prototypes
Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or relevant Dynamics and Controls coursework
Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members.
Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, management, subcontractors and customers.

Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $68,000 - $119,830. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
