Job Title: Snowflake DMF Consultant (Data observability)

Job Description:

• Design, implement, and maintain Snowflake Data Metric Functions (DMFs) on critical datasets
• Build and manage observability checks for data freshness, volume, validity, schema changes, and anomalies
• Leverage Snowflake and dbt metadata to support monitoring, diagnostics, and root cause analysis
• Integrate data quality signals with monitoring and alerting tools such as Splunk and OpsGenie
• Optimize DMF performance and Snowflake compute usage for cost and efficiency
• Develop basic dashboards or reports to provide visibility into data health and reliability
• Document solutions and support knowledge transfer to internal teams

Qualifications/Skills:

• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake, including Data Metric Functions (DMFs)
• 8-10+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or similar roles.
• 3 5+ years working hands-on with Snowflake in production.
• Advanced SQL skills with experience in production data environments
• Experience working with dbt, including models, metadata, and tests
• Experience integrating data platforms with Splunk or similar monitoring tools
• Familiarity with incident management tools such as OpsGenie

Nice to Have

• Experience with Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code tools
• Exposure to Streamlit or Snowflake-native dashboards
• Prior experience with data observability or data reliability initiatives
