Senior Full-Stack Developer Data Center Migration & Legacy Application Engineering Project Type Legacy data center to new on-premises data center migration Role Level Mid-career / senior hands-on individual contributor or technical lead Primary Focus Modern hands-on developer supporting full-stack application readiness, migration, remediation, and stabilization across on-premises infrastructure. About the Role As a Senior Full-Stack Developer, you will be a highly hands-on contributor supporting the migration of a business-critical application from a legacy on-premises data center to a new on-premises data center. You will work across application code, user interfaces, APIs, integrations, databases, batch processes, deployment procedures, monitoring hooks, and production support readiness. This is not a cloud-native modernization role. The primary objective is safe, reliable migration across distributed on-premises infrastructure with minimal refactoring. However, you will be expected to identify and implement practical, selective improvements that reduce technical debt, improve reliability, strengthen operational support, and make future modernization easier. What You'll Do Develop, remediate, refactor, test, deploy, and support application components required for data center migration readiness. Work across front-end, back-end, database, integration, batch, reporting, scripting, and operational support layers. Assess environment-specific dependencies including server configuration, database connectivity, file paths, scheduled jobs, interfaces, authentication, certificates, middleware, and monitoring. Update code, configuration, scripts, SQL stored procedures, macros, integrations, and deployment documentation required for the new data center. Use Jira for backlog execution, defects, sprint work, migration tasks, requirements traceability, and status reporting. Use ServiceNow for change coordination, incident resolution, problem records, and operational transition activities. Partner with QA, database, infrastructure, security, monitoring, and operations teams to support testing, cutover, and stabilization. Required Qualifications 8+ years of hands-on software development experience across enterprise applications. Strong full-stack experience across UI, business logic, APIs, services, databases, integrations, testing, deployment, and production support. Demonstrated experience supporting application migration, server relocation, environment transition, or data center migration projects. Deep experience with Microsoft OS environments, SQL Server, SQL Server databases, SQL stored procedures, and advanced SQL programming. Hands-on experience with .NET, C#, VB.NET, Java, PowerBuilder, VB6, VBS macros, or similar legacy and enterprise application technologies. Experience with Jira and ServiceNow in structured delivery and production support environments. Strong troubleshooting skills across application, database, infrastructure, performance, and monitoring layers. Preferred Qualifications Experience in fintech, payments, banking, accounting, or regulated environments. Experience with VMware vCenter-hosted application environments. Experience with Splunk, Dynatrace, or Moogsoft for troubleshooting and operational readiness. Experience with CI/CD, GitLab or source control workflows, automated testing, or AI-assisted engineering tools for code generation, documentation, optimization, and test scaffolding. Core Technology Environment Microsoft Windows Server / Microsoft OS environments Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server databases VMware vCenter and enterprise virtualization Jira for Agile delivery, backlog, defects, traceability, and reporting ServiceNow for change, incident, problem, and operational workflows Splunk, Dynatrace, and Moogsoft for observability, monitoring, alerting, and event correlation .NET, C#, VB.NET, Java, PowerBuilder, VB6, VBS macros SQL stored procedures, T-SQL, and deep SQL programming practices GitLab or equivalent source control and CI/CD tools where applicable AI-assisted engineering tools such as Copilot or Codex where approved for first-draft code, documentation, and test scaffolding Success in the First 12 Months Deliver production-quality code, scripts, SQL changes, and configuration updates required for migration readiness. Help migrate the application to the new data center with minimal production disruption. Improve reliability, supportability, monitoring, and documentation for migrated components. Resolve technical defects quickly across application, database, and infrastructure boundaries. Become a trusted technical contributor capable of owning complex workstreams from analysis through stabilization. Ideal Candidate A senior full-stack developer who can independently support a data center-to-data center migration across legacy application, database, scripting, infrastructure, and operational support layers while improving reliability and maintainability without unnecessary scope expansion. Work Authorization Applicants must currently possess valid and unrestricted authorization to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship requirements. |
