Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Staff AI Development Engineer to join a high-energy team driving AI transformation across our product platform. This role will be involved throughout the entire software development lifecycle, designing and building AI-powered capabilities that enable engineering teams to develop, deploy, and operate agentic AI applications at scale.

The role spans the full stack, including agent orchestration, backend services, APIs, and cloud-native infrastructure. You will leverage technologies such as Python, Java, LangGraph, and modern AI frameworks to build scalable, production-grade solutions. Success in this role requires strong technical leadership, excellent engineering fundamentals, and the ability to identify and mitigate risks before deployment.

The ideal candidate brings deep full-stack expertise, a proven track record of technical leadership and mentorship, and practical experience building and operating agentic AI solutions in production environments.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated full-stack ownership and delivery of scalable, production-grade applications.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and operating agentic AI applications in production, including LLM-powered and agent-based solutions serving real users and workloads.
  • Hands-on experience with LangGraph and advanced agent orchestration patterns, including multi-step planning, sub-agent coordination, shared-state architectures, long-running workflows, human-in-the-loop processes, and debugging production agent systems.
  • Strong software engineering expertise in Python, Java, and modern backend development, including designing and building scalable APIs and cloud-native services.
  • Experience developing AI-powered user experiences, including Conversational AI, IVR systems, and generative UI applications.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture and design reviews, mentoring engineers, resolving complex production issues, and building reusable platform capabilities leveraged across multiple engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in prompt engineering, LLM evaluation frameworks, AI observability, and LLM security best practices.
  • Experience with LLM fine-tuning, model optimization, performance tuning, and evaluation methodologies to improve AI system quality and reliability.
  • Proven ability to define and implement best practices for AI governance, reliability, operational excellence, and production readiness.
  • Strong background in platform engineering, observability, and distributed systems, including monitoring, distributed tracing, troubleshooting, incident response, and operational support.
  • Experience creating and maintaining architectural designs, technical design documents, runbooks, and technical briefs for complex engineering initiatives.
  • Experience working within Agile and SAFe methodologies in large-scale enterprise environments.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, related field, or equivalent experience (High School diploma plus 4 years relevant work experience).
