On premise Infrastructure Project Manager

Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid – 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager to lead and deliver critical on-premise IT infrastructure initiatives supporting a fast-growing automotive parts manufacturing and distribution business based in Dallas.
This role will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering infrastructure projects across data centers, network environments, servers, storage, security systems, and enterprise applications that support manufacturing operations, distribution centers, and corporate offices.
The ideal candidate brings strong infrastructure expertise, disciplined project execution, and the ability to coordinate across IT, engineering, manufacturing operations, and external vendors.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Project Leadership

• Lead the planning and execution of on-premise infrastructure projects including server upgrades, storage deployments, virtualization, network expansions, and data center improvements.
• Develop project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure successful delivery.
• Manage infrastructure refresh programs and lifecycle upgrades for hardware and software platforms.
• Data Center & Systems Management
• Oversee initiatives involving data centers, virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V), Windows/Linux servers, storage systems, and backup infrastructure.
• Coordinate deployment and integration of ERP systems, manufacturing systems, and warehouse management systems with infrastructure platforms.Network & Security Coordination
• Manage projects involving network infrastructure (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switching, VPN, wireless networks).
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure infrastructure security standards, patch management, and compliance controls are implemented.Cross-Functional Coordination​
• Work closely with manufacturing operations, supply chain teams, engineering, and corporate IT leadership to prioritize infrastructure initiatives.
• Coordinate with vendors, system integrators, and hardware providers for procurement and implementation.

Risk & Performance Management

• Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Track project milestones, budgets, and deliverables.
• Provide regular updates to senior leadership and stakeholders on project progress.

Documentation & Governance

• Maintain detailed technical documentation, project artifacts, and change management records.
• Ensure adherence to IT governance, security policies, and operational standards.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in IT project management with focus on infrastructure and data center environments.
• Experience managing on-premise infrastructure projects in manufacturing, distribution, or automotive environments.
• Strong understanding of:
• Servers and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V)
• Storage systems and backup solutions
• Enterprise networking (LAN/WAN, firewalls, switching)
• Data center operations
• Proven ability to manage multiple infrastructure projects simultaneously.
• Experience working with hardware vendors, system integrators, and managed service providers.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
