Senior Data Quality Analyst (Contract)
Location: Onsite preferred — Wilmington, DE or Buffalo, NY (4 days/week in office)
Duration: Through end of 2026, with strong possibility to extend through December 2027

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior Data Quality Analyst who operates like a data quality engineer — building automation-first controls, monitoring, and scalable remediation workflows across cloud and on-prem environments. What you’ll do

• Build automated data quality pipelines to detect, diagnose, and remediate data defects at scale (scalable, idempotent, observable).

• Use Python + SQL for profiling, rule evaluation, schema validation, anomaly detection, and automated exception handling.

• Integrate systems via APIs (REST/GraphQL/SDKs) with ticketing, alerting, catalogs, and orchestration tools (OAuth2, retries/backoff, pagination, rate limits).

• Create and maintain reusable, versioned DQ rule libraries with unit tests, linting, and static checks.

• Embed DQ controls into ETL/ELT jobs with pre/post-load validations, row/column checks, and SLA/SLO monitoring.

• Set up event-driven alerts/webhooks to route exceptions to Jira/ServiceNow with audit-ready metadata.

• Build operational dashboards and apps using Power BI + Power Apps to track coverage, drift, and rule performance.

• Perform root-cause analysis using lineage/logs/metrics and automate remediation where possible (rollback, quarantine, replay).

• Contribute to CI/CD for DQ assets (GitLab or similar): testing, promotions, secrets management, and change controls.

• Write runbooks/design docs and mentor others on scripting, APIs, and engineering best practices.

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s + 5+ years related experience, or 9+ years combined education/work experience with 5+ years related experience.

• Advanced Python and SQL (reusable libraries, scheduled jobs, validation pipelines).

• Strong API engineering experience (REST/GraphQL, OAuth2/Bearer, pagination, rate limits, retries, webhooks).

• Experience with Power BI and Power Apps for operational reporting/workflow automation.

• Proven ability to partner across engineering, governance, and business teams in fast-paced environments.

Preferred

• ETL/ELT validation patterns: data contracts, schema enforcement, pre/post-load checks.

• DQ/observability tools (e.g., Informatica Cloud DQ, Monte Carlo, Anomalo, Collibra OwlDQ) and SDK/API usage.

• DQ dimensions and measurement: completeness, validity, accuracy, timeliness, uniqueness, consistency.

• Governance-aligned DQ frameworks (metadata contracts, lineage, policy-as-code).

• Event-driven triage using workflow/automation tools and messaging/queueing.

• Cloud experience (especially Azure, plus Snowflake) including SDK scripting, secrets, orchestration, and cost-aware design.

• CI/CD in GitLab (or similar): pipelines, scanning, promotions, approvals.

• Exposure to ML/statistical anomaly detection integrated via APIs.

• Strong communication skills — able to explain tradeoffs to non-technical stakeholders.
