Summary

Are you ready to make an impact?

West Monroe is currently seeking a Manager to join our Operations Excellence practice within our growing CIO Advisory discipline.

CIO Advisory consultants help clients think strategically about talent and service delivery models, transforming operations through effective transformation management, strategic sourcing and optimizing people, process and technology.

This person will bring experience advising clients on outsourcing assessments, outsourcing RFx development, evaluation, and selection, contract negotiations, outsourcing transition, vendor governance and management, and service delivery optimization.

What you'll do:
  • Advise clients on outsourcing strategies, M&A procurement and sourcing strategies, and vendor relationships, including IT outsourcing and service delivery model optimization.
  • Serve as a delivery leader on engagements of moderate-to-high complexity and scale, communicating with client sponsors directly without oversight, and exemplifying engagement management, client relationship, client satisfaction, risk management, and delivery team management skills.
  • Oversee engagement scope, budget, deliverables, profitability, work management and reporting, change management, vendor management, and team development.
  • Work with clients to develop detailed technical / operational requirements, service level agreements, pricing strategies and approaches, and writing RFP documents.
  • Evaluate vendor proposals from a technical, operational, pricing / financial, and contractual perspective.
  • Support clients through the contract negotiation process by participating in contract negotiation sessions.
  • Lead procurement workstreams during mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, and carve-outs by assessing procurement organizations, supplier landscapes, spend, contracts, sourcing opportunities, operating models, and synergy value capture to support transaction objectives.
  • Perform procurement due diligence by evaluation supplier contracts, third-party risks, spend, procurement capabilities, and sourcing opportunities to identify cost savings, operational risks, integration considerations, and value creation opportunities
  • Develop Day 1 and post-close procurement integration and separation strategies, including operating model design, supplier rationalization, contract transition planning, governance models, and synergy realization roadmaps
  • Build practice area capabilities (including AI capabilities), identify and scope practice development initiatives, lead onboarding activities, and lead training delivered to the practice.
  • Support business development through building networks with internal Partners, educating channel partners on practice offerings, farming opportunities at existing clients, and scoping projects/proposals.
  • Engage in account management processes including supporting account planning, developing and maintaining relationships with client peers, invoicing, resource allocations, and project financial management.
  • Actively participate in proposal development by synthesizing client requests and issues while mapping West Monroe methodologies and reviewing client materials to determine appropriate scope as well as potential areas out-of-scope.
  • Assist team members with their integration into the team, providing instruction, assistance, and coaching on methodologies and work approaches.
  • Manage and mentor a team of consultants, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Provide quality assurance review on junior team members' approaches and deliverables
  • Actively engage in recruiting, interviewing, and selecting campus and experienced new hire consultants.

What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
  • 7+ years of relevant IT outsourcing, service delivery model advisory, and M&A advisory experience; preferably in a business consulting environment.
  • Previous experience managing IT outsourcing and M&A procurement engagements including developing work plans, project scopes, pricing estimates, budget management, issue and risk management, and presenting deliverables.
  • People management experience, and a passion for developing and coaching more junior team members.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including the ability to create impactful and concise executive stakeholder-ready deliverables, and polished client-facing oral communication skills.
  • Strong data visualization and analysis skills; comfortable using tools like Excel to analyze data and present key insights in a compelling way.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Demonstrated success within one or more of West Monroe's core industries including Consumer & Industrial Products, Healthcare (payer/provider), Life Sciences, High Tech & Software, Utilities, Insurance, Banking, and/or Private Equity.
  • A commitment to inclusion and diversity, and openness to new ideas and perspectives.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%.
