POSITION SUMMARY:
Advanced Energy is currently seeking a Process Engineering Intern to support development activities at our Fort Collins production cleanroom. This is a great opportunity for an Intern to work with a cutting-edge manufacturing team, closely collaborating on the manufacturing and development of processes in our high-performance, precision, micro-electronics packages. Both undergraduate and post-graduate candidates will be considered.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Candidates may perform and support manufacturing activities related to any of the following:
Active participant in analysis, optimization and (re)design of existing and new manufacturing processes across three core critical areas: wirebond, vacuum reflow and CT scanning.
Analyze test data and reports against functional and performance specifications.
Analyze and modify line layouts, processes and fixtures using lean manufacturing to improve work-flow and competitive advantage.
Own documentation improvement projects, for example: build documentation, time studies, etc. s
Assist in troubleshooting failure analysis, breakdowns and chronic failures in manufacturing process utilizing 8D, fishbone, etc. methodology.
Recommend design and assembly improvements to enhance manufacturability.
Own directed feasibility studies relative to a micro-electronics manufacturing facility.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Location: Fort Collins, Colorado
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to work in a class 10K ISO 7 cleanroom undertaking the responsibilities above.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to meet schedule requirements and define priorities without direct supervision
Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based platforms and with computer-based design and analysis tools, working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Working understanding of SAP or comparable MRP/ERP
Working understanding of the application of robotics in a manufacturing environment.
EXPERIENCE:
Preferred:
Experience with SolidWorks, MATLAB, Python and other programming languages.
Experience with electronic packaging
EDUCATION:
Candidates working towards a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 40 credits towards a Mechanical Engineering (BSME) or equivalent
Candidates working towards MS or Ph.D. degrees in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
Preference will be given to those with a mechanical, electrical, materials, physics, and/or manufacturing focus, but other fields consistent with Advanced Energy's needs will also be considered
GPA > 3.25
COMPENSATION:
As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $22 to $38 per hour (depending on experience & education level).
